Notion Affiliate Program

Notion used to offer a $10 referral program for users (now closed) but no affiliate program. Sign up to be first to know when the Notion project management affiliate program launches.

What happened to the Notion referral program? Is the Notion referral program closed? Why can’t I see the Notion refer-a-friend tab?

You used to be able to refer friends to sign up for Notion to earn credit towards a paid subscription. Notion discontinued this program as of May 19, 2020 since Notion’s Personal Plan now includes unlimited content for free. But you can still complete any of the tasks in the Earn Credit section of Settings & Members to earn credit. Any previous referrals (including pending ones) will still be honored.

Earn Credit Options

From the Notion website – you can earn credit towards upgrading to a paid subscription by completing any of the tasks below:

• Log in on the web: ****Sign into Notion from any web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari for example) to earn $5 of credit.
• Log in on the desktop app: ****Install our Mac app or Windows app and log in to earn $5.
• Log in on the mobile app: Install our iOS app or Android app and log in to earn $5.
• Migrate from Evernote: Import your Evernote notes and notebooks to earn $5 toward your Notion plan.
• Use Web Clipper for Chrome: Install the Web Clipper extension for Chrome and save your first link for $3.
• Use Web Clipper for mobile: Configure Web Clipper on your iOS or Android device, then save your first link to earn $3.

Has Notion started an affiliate program yet?

Not yet but based on software with similar pricing like the Airtable and Skillshare, if they decide to offer an affiliate program, it will most likely be a $10 refer-a-friend program again. They make also decide to offer a reseller-style plan to their ambassadors who work with corporate customers.

Why did the Notion refer-a-friend style, referral program close?

Notion offers a generous free plan that is mainly used by consumers, while businesses mainly use their premium plans. For Notion to earn a return on their affiliate program spend, they would need people to refer businesses to Notion to use their paid premium plans. We would assume the original program closed because most of the referrals were given to free plan users or lower-priced plan users.

Are there alternative ways to earn Notion credits?

The only option we’ve found for getting Notion credits added to your account is to buy a product called Secret where you pay $US99 and get access to $1,000 of Notion credits (as well as being able to get credits and discounts on other products like Typeform, Miro, Airtable etc). Not as good as getting access to a Notion promo code, free Notion credits or a Notion discount code but worth it if you want your Notion account paid for a few years.
